Pikey Peak trekking in the lower section of the Everest region is especially designed for those who like to explore nature and are interested in the local culture but may not have time for a longer trip, or are unable to go to high elevations. The trip starts from Patale, after a 30 minute scenic mountain flight to Phaplu from Kathmandu and approximately 2 hour’s jeep drive to Patale from there.

The Pikey Panorama trek goes through quaint Sherpa and Tamang villages and joins the main local trade route. The wide open trail continues west following the ridge to Jhapre Monastery (the main religious center of the area), providing spectacular mountain views throughout the trail including Mt. Everest. We keep going west-north following summer pastures and ascend the summit of Pikey Peak(4040m.) which provides spectacular views of Gaurishankar, Thamsherkhu, Number Himal, Makalu, Everest many other huge mountains. After arriving in Junbesi, we do a day hike to Thupten Chholing, which is one of the main religious centers of the entire Everest region and the home of Thulsik Rinpoche who was one of the main religious figures of Buddhism in Nepal and was in his 32nd reincarnation.
